Welcome to 'The Dunes'![edit]
Congratulations! You made it to the Dunes. This is where you will start to learn the basic mechanics of your job in a party setting.
If you're a warrior, that will mean learning how to keep the monster attacking you instead of the weaker mages. This is called tanking and in its most basic form, means using Provoke on the monster your party is fighting every 30 seconds. Warriors, monks, and thieves also take the role of damage dealers (or DDs). Your main job is to dish out damage and kill the monster quickly. White mages will learn how to heal effectively. Black mages will learn how to nuke (use elemental damage spells) and enfeeble. Red mages will be supporting the party with enhancing magic to make the party more effective(buffs) and enfeebling magic to weaken the monster (debuffs). Parties will come slow at first and some jobs, especially for thieves. At level 15, thieves get the job ability Sneak Attack, which allows them to do critical damage when behind the monster. This is their main use in a low level party and they won't be much use until then. If you find you're taking hours to get a party, it may be a good idea to explore Konschtat Highlands and solo the weaker monsters there. Just be careful of stronger, aggresive monsters and be sure to set your homepoint in Valkurm Dunes. |

Monster Data (Valkrum Dunes)[edit]
The following are the common mobs of Valkrum Dunes. Note that if you are wandering about Valkrum Dunes at a fairly low level, it would be advised to join a functioning party before attempting to fight any of these monsters. Like from the guides from the three main nations, this also indicates the relative toughness of a monster, whether a monster is aggressive and how they detect an adventurer.
