Historical Background[edit]
The Brave Blade first appeared in Final Fantasy V. The sword also makes an appearance in Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates as the "Brave Sword". This recurring weapon often showed traits befitting its name; the description in Ring of Fates reading:
"A blade made for true heroes. Those without courage find the weapon too heavy to handle."
In Final Fantasy V, the sword was potentially one of the strongest weapons in the game, though its Attack rating decreased every time the party escaped from battle, another connection to the wielder's "courage" or "bravery".
