  • Uses all standard Vampyr TP attacks except Nocturnal Servitude and additionally:
  • Dirty Breath:inflicts a "Zombie" effect on targets (Formerly known only as "ST20"). Afflicted targets cannot recover HP or MP by any means. Sacrifice and Esuna can remove this Curse status while under the effects of Afflatus Solace and Afflatus Misery respectively. Cursna will also remove the effect, but not with a 100% success rate (Similar to Doom)- success depends on Healing Magic skill.
  • Minax Glare:Gaze Attack that inflicts Terror and a powerful Defense Down Defense Down.
  • Despawns immediately following a wipe (cannot be reclaimed). Additionally, automatically despawns after two hours.
  • Does not normally have an HP bar.
  • HP bar is briefly revealed after using Dirty Breath.
  • Susceptible to Slow Slow, Elegy Elegy, Shadowbind;
  • Immune to Gravity Weight, Bind Bind, Sleep Sleep, Paralyze Paralyze, Blind Blind and Poison Poison.
  • Highly resistant to Elemental Magic.
  • Has a moderate rate of regain.

Historical Background[edit]

Lord Ruthven appeared as the titular character in Dr. John William Polidori's short story The Vampyre, written in 1816. Dr. Polidori was an acquaintance of Lord Byron, a British poet and leading figure of the Romantic era in Britain, and the story was misattributed to Lord Byron in its first publication in 1819. The story was an immediate success, and Lord Ruthven appeared in operas and other novels until overshadowed by Bram Stoker's Dracula in 1897.
