Historical Background[edit]

Akvan stems from the Sanskrit Akela Manas or the Indo-Aryan Aka Manah ("non sense") is one of the Daeva. He is the demon of sensual desire that was sent by Ahriman to seduce the prophet Zarathustra. His eternal opponent is Vohu Manah. Akvan also represents "bad spirit" in French.
