Talk:Trumpet Shell

Item[edit]

Best place I found to get these is in Abyssea - Vunkerl on the bridge just next to Conflux #2. With Ebisu Fishing Rod/Robber Rig I usually go roughly 4/6-8. --Xurion 08:46, 24 April 2012 (UTC)

I got one of these @ abyssea-altepa in one of those boxes, im not sure which one it was just in treasures

Anyone know if these are considered to be "items" like Shall Shells? --Pometeme 14:01, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

Uh, doesn't it go without saying that the 'best setup' would involve Lu Shang's Fishing Rod? What about the best setup for people who haven't contributed to Moat Carp's status as Most Frequently Bid On Auction House item? --IneptOne 06:13, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

It says best setup, not "best setup most people will ever possibly achieve". so no, as ebisu is better than lu shangs. Normally rods arnt listed on a best setup because it "goes without saying" that Ebisu is best rod, then lu shangs, then others. --Aikar 17:11, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Composite Fishing Rod is too big for them. --Viletto 23:42, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

edited table and moved comp rod to possible lost catch due to too small of a fish for the rod. Removing verification tag as well.--Chimera 18:54, February 19, 2012 (UTC)

Ok, I'm calling shenanigins on this mithran fishing rod / clothespole / Composite Fishing Rod ~ Robber Rig setup. Tried with all 3 rods, and received the same message, "Whatever caught the hook was too small to catch with this rod." So unless you have a Lu Shang's Fishing Rod, you're boned with catching these, without running the risk of rod breaks. Syn6769 22:14, August 13, 2010 (UTC)

On my server, these are going for 20k/stack and there's *ALWAYS* at least half a dozen people fishing these. Still, I've NEVER had to wait more than a day for mine to sell. What on earth are people using so many trumpet shells for? Is it the carbon dioxide? ~Zazhi, sylph

My guess would be trumpet rings. Bonecraft (96) and only uses trumpet shells, so it's a very cheap recipe, considering. --User:Chrisjander/Sig 21:31, August 14, 2010 (UTC)
