The S/T referred to here is noting if that Blood Pact can be used in (S)killchains, or uses (T)P to modify its damage. --Ramathorne 16:52, 9 January 2007 (EST)

"Great for soloing"[edit]

In the Notes section, I see it points out that "Titan is a great avatar to use for soloing". I'm not arguing the validity of this, but the statement alone seems completely unsupported. Obviously we don't need a full write up of soloing tactics, but perhaps a sentence or two saying WHY Titan is good for soloing? (I've little summoner experience, so I don't think I can add something myself.) Otherwise it seems a little too much of just personal opinion rather than neutral information. Or perhaps it should be removed? The other avatars don't seem to have similar notes. --Psepha 17:13, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

Titan is good for soloing pots in sky, in particular Aura Pots for Ro'Maeve Water for Genbu. The lv70 Blood Pact Mountain Buster usually hits for about 900 dmg on an un-merited SMN, which takes off ~25% of the pot's HP. I have personally done 2000+ dmg with Mountain Buster vs Aura Pots though. I rocky 22:47, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

..Thats the only reason? Soloing doesnt just mean 75 >.> I can understand why he'd be good for soloing, he's quite tough and got good defence on him, but what you just said only tells why for lvl 75 >.> --Taruzard 18:16, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

DRG is also good at soloing.. Dont have to be lvl 75 to do it, does that mean DRG is better than Titan? --Taruzard 23:40, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

  • Now you're just being argumentative for its own sake.

This is a tempest in a teapot. Titan is usually the first avatar people get in the Trial-by-Size fights. So you end up using him a lot while you earn enough gil to afford the next round (against Ifrit or Leviathan.) He has some punching power that Carbuncle does not have, so he is a significant step forward. Remember though he is-earth-based, and so is ineffective against earth-based mobs. Having all six terrestrial avatars, allowing you to choose the avatar against which the mob is weak, makes for really great soloing.--McGoonagle 17:03, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
