Talk:Shock Spikes

maybe i remember wrong but i recall if a PL has spikes on the PT does not get exp? mind you this was years ago so it could have changed.Littledarc 20:25, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Still exists. An enemy hitting a Black or Red Mage with Spikes on will recieve damage from that player, and therefore will be flagged to give exp based on that player's level (usually reducing it to TWTBW's 0 exp).

If a Black/Red Mage is doing this to you, or another job is using other means (Such as Reprisal or Gallant's Roll) to damage an enemy out of party, use /blockaid to prevent them from curing you and therefore pulling aggro. --Taeria Saethori 21:45, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

from article: " * Spikes cannot damage a monster the character is not able to attack himself.(e.g. if a PL were being attacked by a monster the party is currently fighting.) " sooo im removing this since it is untrue.--Littledarc 17:09, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

Just been out to test this:

If the mob is unclaimed and attacks whoever is PL'ing (ie the mob linked), then they can receive spikes damage, and that will reduce the xp to the appropriate level as stated above. However, as TheMysteriousX shows in his screenshot, if claimed, the PL is unable to do damage to it (because it's claimed), and the mob does not take "spikes" damage.Solarhawk 21:28, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
