  • For all these are labeled as Red Mages, I've never seen them cast any RDM spells. In fact, mostly I see them cast Black Mage spells. -ga elemental magic, ancient magic, Drown and Choke are all cast. I've never seen them cast Enspells on themselves, or blink/stoneskin, or even attempt to dispel me. Anyone else notice this? --User:Chrisjander/Sig 01:02, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Indeed, I have. As a matter of fact I'm fairly sure all pots are Black Mages. I've not seen a pot cast anything that resembles a RDM yet. (Haste, Refresh, Cure, Dia, etc.). --Prothescar 8:07PM EST, 12 January 2009
  • Pots always close to melee unlike BLM mobs. Their AI is not that of a black mage. Spell list is not always in line with the job. I'm inclined to leave it the way it is. Tahngarthortalk-contribs 04:16, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
  • Location of these: Go in the main entrance to the Temple at J-11 in Yhoater Jungle. Turn left and go through the door (this is an area not shown on your map). Just follow the path until you exit out to Yhoater Jungle (J-9) and keep right (two turns) until you enter the Temple again. Preciouskitten 02:38, December 30, 2009 (UTC)

If meleeing is a requirement to be considered a Black Mage monster, go change all imps to RDM, because although they cast BLM spells exclusively and Imp NMs even use Manafont, like Zikko, they all melee. Not meleeing until a certain HP % is common for BLM monsters, but not required. I'm editing Hover Tank's job to be BLM/RDM, on the hypothesis that a RDM subjob will cause BLM monsters to close in to melee. If RDM subjob doesn't cause them to close in to melee immediately, then they just do it if their family is programmed to. See Magic Pots and Imps.--Blue Donkey Kong 17:23, May 4, 2011 (UTC)
