Talk:Battuta

  • How exactly does the runes work on Battuta? I know it increases parrying and countering and all, but how does the rune itself helps out with this? Is not like parry and counter has an element associated with it >.> or is it just the number of runs up that counts towards battuta regardless of it's element?

  • I just notices a light spikes effect, much like PLD's Spells Reprisal, with this ability and 3 Lux runes up, while was leveling with my partner. Could it be that the Runes adds an elemental spike effect when you use Battuta?--Wolffeberhard (talk) 21:59, October 14, 2013 (UTC)
    • Ok, I just tried using this JA with 3 Flabra runs up and I noticed an effect that I can only call it as "Wind Spikes".--Wolffeberhard (talk) 22:26, October 14, 2013 (UTC)
  • ok, I've confermed how this abitlity works. When this Battuta is ative, every parry you do to an enemy attack, will counter with a "spike" effect. The element of that spike effect will be that of the dominent element of the runes you had up at the time this JA was ativated. If there's no dominent element, then Battuta will use the element of the rune that was most recently activated. Since you need to parry an attack for this JA to work, it would be wise to have capped and/or even merited Parrying Skill to take full advantage of this ability.--Wolffeberhard (talk) 20:53, October 16, 2013 (UTC)
  • It cannot be understated how potent this ability is. With capped (or reasonably close to capped) parrying skill and 5/5 merits in this, you have a nearly 100% parrying rate, and every parry does damage to the enemy. It goes by the runes you had up when you used the ability for the duration of the ability, so even if you change or lose runes, the effect remains the same (e.g. you use it with 3 Lux runes, then change to 3 Tenebrae, the spikes effect will continue to do light damage rather than switching to dark, or if you spend your runes for something like Lunge/Swipe/Gambit, the spikes continue to do the same amount of damage they were doing with 3 runes). On most mobs, with 5/5 merits, barring resists and the like, the spikes tend to do 100+ damage if used with 3 runes of the same element. On top of this, remember that RUN has Tactical Parry III, so you get 40 TP per successful parry (50 with Futhark Boots or 60 with Futhark Boots +1!). It's particularly amazing when used while tanking a mob with [[Hundred Fists] up; they kill themselves on your spikes while you get tons of TP. --Kyrie (talk) 06:34, April 8, 2015 (UTC)
