- Apkallu have a communal hate based on how many in the zone have been killed. As the amount of hate increases, so does their resistance towards magical and physical damage. Be advised that there is seemingly no capping point to their damage resistance, where they eventually start taking virtually no damage (MNK99 with 630 base attack, plus attack food, plus Impetus was hitting paltry ~0-3 damage criticals; Formless Strikes would do normal damage, which may suggest that they become resistant only to the damage type that you've been using).
- The amount of hate also influences what TP moves they will use. With no hate, Apkallu will only use Yawn, switching to other TP moves as communal hate increases.
- Yawn and Frigid Shuffle can be avoided by turning away from the mob as soon as you see it start using them.
- Apkallu will link after enough hate is accumulated.
- At 33% they will run away to find the nearest other Apkallu. This can make it endless fighting if you do not have a form of bind or gravity. They can run so far away looking for a link they can despawn before making back to you, though this might make a bigger problem if they respawn near you.
- When Apkallu hate is at its peak in an area, all Apkallu will begin to aggro in that zone. With the dawn of the Magian Trials, it is likely that most Apkallu can be relied upon to aggro on large servers.
