The Tenshodo Showdown - Windurst Woods
Nanaa Mihgo: I was looking for you. It seems you've been prrracticing to be a master thief.

Nanaa Mihgo: Usually I don't mingle with my competition, but the Tenshodo has put out a call for able-bodied thieves.
Nanaa Mihgo: The Tenshodo came to us, so don't even think of turning down their offer.
Nanaa Mihgo: Well, I'll see you in Jeuno! As those little wizards say, ta-taru!

The Tenshodo Showdown - Lower Jeuno, Tenshodo HQ
Harnek: Do you have the letter from the Tenshodo? Vauderame asked for you?

Harnek: Wait in that room over there. Everyone will be here momentarily.

Vauderame: Well, ladies and gentlemen, are we all here? Allow me to introduce myself. I am Vauderame.
Vauderame: I don't possess a talent for witty repartee as do most of my fellow Elvaan, so I will get straight to the point.
Vauderame: Firstly, I wonder if you have heard of the group known as Atarefaunet's band?

Nbu Latteh: Also known as the Scarlet Thunder of La Theine, rrright?

Esca: The Scarlet what?

Yatniel: A bit before your time, young one? You need to study more.
Yatniel: It was a group of thieves that once terrorized merchants on the roads between San d'Oria, Bastok, and Jeuno, stealing damn huge amounts of money and goods.

Dauman: ...Traveling merchants would quake in fear at the mere mention of that damn name...

Vauderame: It would seem the veterans among you are well-versed in thieving history.
Vauderame: During the Great War, the leader of the band, Atarefaunet, was killed by a traitor and the rest of the members scattered to the winds.
Vauderame: However, the Tenshodo has managed to divine the current whereabouts of the remaining members.
Vauderame: The task I have called you here for today is to deliver a Tenshodo envelope to each of the thieves of Atarefaunet's band.

Yatniel: Why would you want us to do that? Do you mean to bring them together to form a new thieving group? ...Damn!

Vauderame: No, of course not. What could thieves of twenty years ago accomplish now?
Vauderame: Nevertheless, it would not be wise to leave them to their own devices. It's possible that some amongst them might seek to regain the glory of the past.
Vauderame: The Tenshodo merely wishes to measure their intentions. If those members plan on beginning any activities, we ask that they inform us about it.
Vauderame: ...That is the main point of the message in the Tenshodo envelope.
Vauderame: However, it is not certain that they will just meekly sign the papers. My job is to make certain these brigands follow the will of the Tenshodo.
Vauderame: And that is where you come in. Use your knowledge and talents to get those signatures and bring them back here to me.
Vauderame: I will now hand each of you a sealed envelope. Seek out the member whose name is revealed therein.
Vauderame: Lastly, it is against thieving etiquette to sneak a look at the members assigned to people other than yourself. As I'm sure you are aware, too much knowledge is a dangerous thing in this business...
Vauderame: Now, please come to me one at a time to receive your envelope.

Vauderame: You are the adventurer thief <Player>?
Vauderame: Since you are an adventurer, I will give you the member who requires the most muscle to deal with. Go and meet with the Galka staying at the inn located in the town of Selbina.

The Tenshodo Showdown - Selbina
Elfriede: Welcome to the Shepherd's Muster.

Elfriede: ... You're looking for someone? A Galka staying at this inn?
Elfriede: Well, if that's the case, he's standing right behind you.
Sneaking Tiger: ... Whaddayawant!? I'm busy! Who on Vana'diel are you? Never seen ya before!
Sneaking Tiger: What!? You came from the Tenshodo!? You're makin' a scene! Step outside already!
Sneaking Tiger: Out here is better. Whatcha got there? Show me that Tenshodo envelope.
Sneaking Tiger: Well, ain't this amusing. I'm on the straight and narrow these days, so I could just sign it for ya. But that wouldn't be any fun now, would it?
Sneaking Tiger: Let me see. You're still a young thief, but how good are ya? You can't get by in this world on thieving alone, ya know!
Sneaking Tiger: Could ya steal a bowl of Quadav stew from those turtle guys in Beadeaux? Those turtle guys gang up on ya and ya can't just pull a snatch and grab job!
Sneaking Tiger: Show me how good you young thieves are these days! Steal me a bowl of Quadav stew from the turtle guys in Beadeaux, an' I'll sign ya paper.

The Tenshodo Showdown - Selbina
Elfriede: What an amazing display of thievery!
This is the first time I've even laid eyes on a bowl of Quadav Stew. I don't know what to say... It's incredible.

Elfriede: You're looking for someone again?
A galka staying at this inn?
Elfriede: Well, if that's the case, he's standing right behind you.
Sneaking Tiger: Good for you, stripling!
Those turtles pack quite a punch, huh?
Sneaking Tiger: Here, take this back.
I signed the Tenshodo envelope for ya.
Enjoy your thievin' days, <name>!

Harnek: You have completed the assignment?

Harnek: Vauderame is waiting for you in the same room as before. Go and present your report.

Vauderame: It appears the Galka gave you some trouble, as I expected. Your face tells of trying times.

(Nanaa Mihgo walks in.)
Nanaa Mihgo: I'm ba-ack!

Vauderame: Ah, Nanaa Mihgo, that makes everyone.
Vauderame: Now, <Player>. Gather everyone together. It's time to begin.

Vauderame: I thank you all for flawlessly completing the task I set.
Vauderame: As a reward, I will give each of you a weapon designed specifically for thieves. Please come to me one at a time.
