what do you mean by light/dark effects? are you referring to the use of elementals which would benefit more from hq staves than this staff? Although using elementals is a moot point mostly

I believe he is referring to the +10 hMP on the Dark Staff, and Cure Potency on the Light Staff. Both are still quite more useful than Bahamut's when casting Drain/Aspir as /sch, or Cure I/II/III as /whm or /sch. Myzou 11:56, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

And then came Trial of the Magians... First Instituted: -3. Second Update: -4. Third Update: -5. Current Update: -6. Assumed Progression: -8 @ 99. While they are restricted to a single element, it still FAR outweighs the perpetuation reduction of any other weapon or equipment currently available. So, see ya later Bahamut!
