  • Does NOT use any form of physical melee attack. Instead, it will chase the player with the highest enmity and "cling" to them, whilst spamming TP moves and inflicting harmful Status Effects via it's "clinging" ability (Poison, Silence & Amnesia).
  • Afflictions obtained via it's "clinging" property will wear off quickly once distance is made between itself and the player.
  • Susceptible to Stun.

Strategy Notes:[edit]

  • Highly advised to start the fight by having nobody perform any action of any sort on the NM itself, and the player that pops the NM stand there and do nothing, whilst a mage cures them. Then, have people sleep/pull the leeches away from the NM and kill them off one by one, making sure that everyone except the player that popped the NM are out of its AoE range. This eradicates the risk of hate being shifted at all until the NM itself is ready to be tackled.
    • Incredibly difficult to take down with melee alone due to Encumberance. Recommended to bring a nuking mage. Had our RDM Chainspell and tore through it. Just be careful about hate. Causes instant silence if the NM settles on top of you. Seems to use Encumberance move alot more under 50% HP.
    • A similar method successfully used was to have mages nuke it, and SAM's Meditate and WS it (all whilst being kited around the pond by the player with the most hate.) As stated above, between 30-50% HP, it's regular TP moves are replaced twice as often with Mucilaginous Ooze. Nukes were practically required to even hope of taking out this last chunk of HP, as whenever SAMs approached it to WS, their weapons would be unequipped.
    • Easily kited around the pond by a PLD/WHM or RDM/WHM, stopping only to Erase/Poisona themselves.
    • RNG, BLM, and RDM all work well at dealing damage to this NM from a distance. SAM/RNG, COR, and SCH were not tested, but should work well too.
