Historical Background[edit]
Aega is the name of several figures in history and mythology. The word aega can be roughly translated from the ancient Greek as "goat". Aega, the goddess, was a solar deity in Greek mythology and was associated as a minor nature goddess and the goddess of domesticated animals. There is also another Aega who was a descendant of Hephaestus and is remembered as the net(wet?) nurse of Zeus. In both mythological cases she would later became the constellation Capella. Aega is also a historical figure who severed as the majordomo and regent of Neustria and Burgund during the 7th century.
