Game Script[edit]

Wild Card - Windurst Waters
Honoi-Gomoi: ...You again! What do you want with me now? Have you come to stand up for those S.O.B.'s? You're wasting your time! Unless, of course, you're willing to listen to my offer. I'll make it worth your while, so you'd be smart to take me up on it. Well now, an adventurer worthy of the name. You realize you have to look at things with a cool head on your shoulders. If what those S.O.B.'s say is true, I doubt they'll be able to disassemble that Cardian on their own. I don't know too much about Cardians, but I'm sure it won't just sit there quietly while someone tries to take it to pieces. More than likely it'll lash out and we'll have all sorts of trouble on our hands. This is where you come in. To keep the little moppets safe, you're going to have to be the one to do it. They'll probably be upset with you for a long while, but they'll get over it. Surely you don't want to see them suffer over this mess any longer. If you care for those kids, you'll take it upon yourself to do the dirty work... That's what adults are there for, right?
Wild Card - Windurst Walls (The Jester who'd be King is NOT completed)
Joker: ...I Have Waited For You, <adventurer's name>. I Know Why You Are Here. You Have Come To Take My Mana Orb. It Is Normal For A Cardian To Die For His Master. But I Am Not Willing To Die. Why Is That? I Don't Know What It Is, But There Is Something I Must Do. It Is Very Important. I Must Do This Thing Even If It Means Defying My Master. ...Please Help Me Search For The Answer. I Believe That Answer Will Be Found In Torai-Marai Canal. Please Search Torai-Marai Canal In My Place. Find What I Am Looking For.
Wild Card - Windurst Walls (The Jester who'd be King IS completed)
Apururu: ...Hello? <adventurer's name>? What are you doing here? This is the house of the great genius Karaha-Baruha. Well, to be perfectly accurate, this would have been his house... Someone was saying they had seen a Cardian lurking around here, so I came to check it out for myself. We can have a look around together! I'd feel much safer with a mighty-wighty adventurer like you to accompany me. It looks like one of the boxes used to store Cardians. It must be one of the old Cardians if it's being kept here. I wonder if it's one of the models my father made twenty years ago... Oh, there's something written here. Let's see now, "...to Toraimarai Canal..."? Toraimarai Canal? Does that mean that the Cardian from this box has some connection with that place? Adventurer, would you go and search Toraimarai Canal for me? You may be able to find some clues to solve this little mystery! If you find even the leastaru bit strange I want you to bring it to me at the Manustery. I'm very curious-wurious about the events of twenty years ago!
Wild Card - Windurst Walls (The Jester who'd be King is NOT completed)
You give the joker card to Joker...

Joker: Yes... I understand now. I know who I am. I know why I am here. I know that there is something I must do. I must see. I must see what has become of Vana'diel. And I must know. I must know what I need to do, and what path I need to take. And so, <adventurer's name>, I cannot allow you to disassemble me as Honoi-Gomoi has asked you. I offer this to you. I ask you to accept this from me and refuse the request from Honoi-Gomoi to take me apart. ...<adventurer's name>. ...Thank you...

Wild Card - Windurst Walls (The Jester who'd be King has been completed since after the first scene)

Someone was saying they had seen a Cardian lurking around here, so I came to check it out for myself. ...Hm? Just a momentaru. What's that you have there? This is... This is a terribly-werribly old Cardian card... But there's something strange about it. There's no mark, just this odd-bodd picture. I can't sense any magic from it, either. How unusual. Ordinarily, Cardian cards are imbued with powerful magic. The Cardian cards were a creation of my father, the previous Minister of the Manustery. The holder of the card could use it to remove the magic animating the card's respective Cardian. Do you understand the ramifications of this? The older Cardians could use the cards in their possession to deactivate other Cardians. ...My father had essentially made it possible for Cardians to kill each other, just like people can. Isn't that horrible-worrible...? Ah, forgive me! I seem to have drifted into a darker topic. Enough of that, back to this card! This card holds no power over its respective Cardian. Which means it's most likely just a reject. Either that...or could it be... This card has no respective Cardian? That would mean that this is a unique card... <adventurer's name>, please let me buy this card off you! I'm sure there's more to this than meets the eye!

Honoi-Gomoi: Unbelievable!

Honoi-Gomoi: You're refusing to carry out the task you've already agreed to?

Honoi-Gomoi: And you call yourself an adventurer? Only a fool would pass up the chance to work for me.

Honoi-Gomoi: ...Fine, then. There's no sense going on about it. Plenty of other adventurers out there. I'll just find myself one with a backbone.

Honoi-Gomoi: This conversation is over. Go live with your S.O.B. friends in your bappy little fantasy world. That's more your level.
