Waking Dreams (pt.1) - Windurst Woods Kerutoto: Zzz... <mumble mumble>...
...Huh!?
Kerutoto: Hey, I've been looking everywhere for you!
Kerutoto: You adventurer folk can'taru seem to sit still. Can you imagine what it's like trying to find you?
...The nerve of people nowadays...Kerutoto: Well, I haven't exactly been out searching for you...not in the strict technical sense of the word...but you've had me so worked-perked up, I haven't been able to properly meditate!
Kerutoto: You've heard of the prime avatar that inhabits the realm of dreams, right?
Wipe that innocent look off your face! I know you know better!Kerutoto: I have received a summons for you from that prime avatar. Yes, you! And also for your buddy-wuddies.
Kerutoto: These past few days have been a nightarumare. Literally!
The prime avatar snatchy-watched me up in my dreams, and I thought I was a goner. Scenes of Windurst flashed before my eyes!Kerutoto: But all he said was, "Come to Pso'Xja," and ordered me to relay the message to you and your palsy-walsies. Do you see what I went through all because of you!?
Kerutoto: But an-y-way!
Kerutoto: I've told you, and done my job! So get your tailsy-wailsy down to Pso'Xja like Mr. Prime Avatar said!
Kerutoto: I'll never be able to meditate properly again if you don't! So off with you now! Shoo!
Waking Dreams (pt.1) - The Shrouded Maw Diabolos: When last we fought, I could feel the light of the crystal. Diabolos: The force was tremendously powerful--strong enough to shatter my realm of dreams.
Tell me. Who was that light coming from?Diabolos: I called all of you back into my realm to learn which of you possesses such power.
Diabolos: You are the first to arrive.
Now I will test your power.Diabolos: Prepare yourself!
This dream is no dream, but a fleeting illusion before eternal slumber!Waking Dreams (pt.2) - The Shrouded Maw Diabolos: So...you are the one who possesses the light of the crystal. Diabolos: The people of Vana'diel need you in order to be saved.
I will lend you my power.Waking Dreams (pt.3) - The Shrouded Maw Diabolos: So you have come, Player name.
You wish to challenge me again?
Diabolos: You shall have your rematch.
Bask in the power of the unattainable dream!Waking Dreams (pt.4) - The Shrouded Maw Diabolos: So you have come, confronter of the Emptiness and liberator of Vana'diel. Diabolos: When last we fought, I could feel the light of the crystal.
Diabolos: You possess a power great enough to dissipate dreams.
Diabolos: I shall submit myself to your will. You may use my form in the waking world as you desire.
Diabolos: However, you must first prove yourself strong enough to undertake such a feat.
Diabolos: You shall witness the full extent of my power. This dream is no dream...
Diabolos: Underestimate your enemy, and this battle shall be as a fleeting illusion before eternal slumber!
Waking Dreams (pt.5) - The Shrouded Maw Diabolos: Your power is impressive. I admit defeat.
I believe you can save the people of Vana'diel. Use my powers wisely.
Waking Dreams (pt.6) - The Shrouded Maw Diabolos: So you have come, Player name!
How dare you thrust humanity into the depths of despair!
Diabolos: Why were you not destroyed in the presence of the mothercrystal?
Diabolos: Traitor!
Plummet into the abyss of endless nightmares!Waking Dreams (pt.7) - The Shrouded Maw Diabolos: So, this dream is yet again near its end... I despise the light in you, Player name. Diabolos: What is it? What are you planning?
Diabolos: You wish to use that light to defeat Promathia?
Diabolos: You are a fool.
But with your strength, you may be able to accomplish your task.Diabolos: I cannot tell if you will succeed. I can perceive all with the power of dreams, but only after the events have been played out.
Diabolos: I shall entrust you with my power.
Diabolos: How you decide to use it will show me your fate.
Waking Dreams (pt.8) - The Shrouded Maw Diabolos: I know all you have achieved from your dreams. Diabolos: The Emptiness continues to disappear from the world, and souls entering my world of Dynamis have become scarce.
Diabolos: You have saved Vana'diel without losing your own soul. You must be proud, Player name.
Diabolos: From now on, I will concentrate my energies into restoring the cursed world of Dynamis to its original form in the realm of dreams.
Diabolos: But I cannot accomplish such a task without great power--power I will receive by drawing you into my realm.
Diabolos: Oh, but you are already a captive in my everlasting dream!
Waking Dreams (pt.9) - The Shrouded Maw Diabolos: How could you possess such resolve even after losing the light of the crystals...? Diabolos: A teardrop? So that's it... You heal your agony and sorrow through tears...
Diabolos: I understand now. I understand, because I was once like you.
Diabolos: Because reality is filled with sorrow and pain, mankind can also come to know bliss, joy on a scale far surpassing any placid dream.
Diabolos: Still, I became a terrestrial avatar in order to assist mankind, and I fully intend to continue my work.
Diabolos: And so I shall bestow upon you that which you so desire--a real dream.
