Historical Background[edit]

All of the Einherjar Kindred Demon NMs are all figures and names from several sagas of Norse Mythology. These include: the Hervarar saga, the Gesta Danorum, the Lay of Hyndla, and a number of Faroese ballads and Orvar-Odd's saga.

The Hervarar saga deals with the sword Tyrfing and how it was forged and cursed by dwarves. Later, it was lost it to the berserker Arngrim. After Arngrim returned to Bolmsö with Eyfura, they had twelve sons whom all followed in their father's footsteps and became berserkers. Many of the Einherjar Kindred Demons get their names from these sons, including: Angantyr, Hjorvarth, Hervarth, Hrani, Barri, Tind, Hadding the Elder, Hadding the Younger, and Bui.
