Can you skillup singing skill on a Main job while subbing bard and using this?[edit]

I have tested this using my Monk61/Bard9 using a Dream Bell +1, which has a +1 singing skill. I sang 10 times, which included Valor Minuet, Knight's Minne, and Army's Paeon songs. I received no skillups at all, and I've proved the question to get a negatory answer. It may help to do more testing, specifically with a larger subjob level to see if the higher level singing skill will help this and possibly gain a job more skillups. --Wavrik^^ 16:25, 23 December 2008 (UTC)Wavrik

you can only gain skill ups when your main job has a native skill base for that skill "same reason blue mage cannot skill up throwing" so since brd is the only job with singing skill you can only skill up singing as brd/??? -- User:Orivaan/Sig 21:49, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

That would be correct, but with a singing skill that isn't from bard wouldn't that work too? I know blu gets a few RA and no native skill but with this wouldnt you receive one single skill point to your main job, making you have some skill to be able to skillup in? This all needs more testing to be confirmed. --Wavrik^^ 23:49, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

This item is not unique, in that it gives singing skill and can be equipped by jobs that don't have singing skill. There are a number of other weapons that do this. The fact that it increases your skill by one when you don't have it will not allow you to skill up that skill if your main job is not Bard. That's just how skillups work, it's already been tested. --User:Chrisjander/Sig 23:58, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Where does this come from?[edit]

My theory is that this item and its NQ counter part are for the coming up winter festival since i vaguely recall SE mentioning doing something with bells for the event somewhere.Umichi 22:54, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

Can you try and find the link to that information, I would like to learn more about it -Crawlerbasher 23:36, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

The Chime[edit]

This is what the chime sounds like when you Dual Wield two Bells and have Hundred Fists activated.
