Special Abilities Passive Traits

Uses all standard Dvergr TP moves, as well as Thundris Shriek, which it appears to gain access to around 25% HP. Hellsnap is favored before 25% HP.

  • Always follows Hellsnap with an AoE spell. Durinn will not cast magic at any other time.
  • Thundris Shriek is by far its most dangerous TP move, inflicting high magic damage (800+), a long-lasting terror effect, and an Intimidation effect that lasts for approximately 1 minute.
  • N/A
Physical Qualities Magical Qualities
  • N/A

Will always follow Hellsnap with a spell. Casts AoE AM and Tier IV -ga spells. Occasionally casts Silencega and Paralyga.

  • If Hellsnap does not connect (no valid targets within area of effect) Durinn will not attempt to cast a spell.
Further Notes
  • Does not absorb damage like Dvalinn does when readying/using TP abilities or spells.
  • Susceptible to Gravity and Bind, however he may resist the latter. Also he will eventually start resisting Gravity if used enough. Ascetic's Tonic or Ascetic's Gambir may allow you to land gravity when he starts resisting.
  • Susceptible to Stun, but very resistant to stun from Head Butt and Violent Flourish.
  • As with Dvalinn, it may be advisable to stop TP feed when Cackle is used until its Magic Defense Down effect is removed. Although the AoE nukes may be able to be anticipated and stunned, Thundris Shriek at <25% HP is harder to stun and will cause significantly higher damage without the effect removed.

Historical Background[edit]

In Norse mythology, Durinn is the name of a dwarf attested in the Poetic Edda poem Völuspá and repeated in Gylfaginning from the Prose Edda. He was the second created after the first and foremost dwarf Mótsognir. He is also attested in Hervarar saga, where he forged the magic sword Tyrfing with the help of Dvalin. In Tolkien's Middle-earth, Durin the Deathless, a character based on the Norse figure, is one of the founding fathers of the Dwarves.
