Dungeons and Dancers (pt.1-3) Goblin Footprint Beaucedine Glacier (S) (H-11)

Walkthrough

  • Examine the Regal Pawprints at (G-9) in Beaucedine Glacier (S) for a cutscene.
    • They are located on the same level as the Campaign Arbiter (C.A.), just follow the cliff westward till you reach the edge of the cliff overlooking the Pso'Xja tower on the level below.
  • Have the party leader examine the Regal Pawprints again to enter Everbloom Hollow.
    • Other party members do not need to be near the Regal Pawprints to be teleported into the battlefield.
    • All party members must have an Aroma Bug on them or have already won this battle to participate.
    • All buffs wear upon entering, including Reraise from spell.
      • Reraise from a Reraise Earring did not wear upon entry.
      • If you fail, you must get a new Aroma Bug from the Regal Pawprints at the southern Pso'Xja tower at (H-10). An Aroma Bug may be obtained once per Vana'diel day - this means you will not be able to get the Aroma Bug the same game day you failed, you have to wait till next game day.

Fight

  • This is not so much a fight as it is a Campaign Ops/Assault-styled mission.
  • Buffs are lost upon entry.
  • You have 30 minutes to complete this mission.
  • At the start of the mission, each party member will receive 2 Ratstail Explosives that you can use to demolish stone walls marked with ???.
  • Goblin Reavers and Giddy Bombs roam the tunnels. Both are fairly weak and have low HP, being between easy prey and decent challenge at 75. They are immune to Sleep, Gravity, and Bind. When killed, Goblin Reavers will leave behind a glowing ??? that awards 3 additional Ratstail Explosives. You can only carry 3 explosives at a time. After defeating the Goblins, a ??? should appear in its place, giving you the option to take more. Note that you will need to check the glowing ??? EACH time you want another explosive; if you only check once, you will only get one.
  • If a Giddy Bomb Self-Destructs near a ??? there is a chance that it will explode in the same way a Ratstail Explosive would.
  • Giddy Bombs are true sight.
  • If you do not pick up any Ratstail Explosives from the glowing ??? spot, it will fade away and the Goblin Reaver will respawn, losing those 3 explosives.

First Map

Your overall objective on this map is to remove the wall at the far northeast of the map (J-6). Examine the ??? for a cutscene then again to place the jar of Firesand and find out the fuse color. Once you know the fuse color, you need to hit the corresponding colored switch. Then return to the destroyed wall at (J-6), which will lead to the second map.

  • You do not need to bring Firesand to this fight, since Cait Sith has one.
  • You can destroy ??? walls with Ratstail Explosives to open pathways for shorter routes.
  • Take note of the colored switches you pass (you will need to hit the correct one once you've had the CS at the northeast wall).

Second Map

Your overall objective is to get to the blue tornado at the lower right of I-9. Get there any way needed (may need more Ratstail Explosives by killing enemies or bombs.

  • Examine the blue tornado to exit and receive a cutscene to complete the mission.
  • After the cutscene, you will receive the key item Umbra Bug, which is used to enter the next battlefield.

Route Walk Thru

An easy route to the end is to take the first right wall you come to at H-9. Blow up the next right wall at I-9, then kill the Goblin Reaver for 3 more Ratstail Explosives. Follow the map route to J-8, avoid the Giddy Bomb and place the Firesand on the ??? after the cs. Backtrack to where you killed the Goblin Reaver and blow up the north wall at H-8. There is a green switch and a Giddy Bomb at I-8. Avoid the bomb and press the switch. Head back to J-8 and the cave should be cleared. The next map, take the southeast route to H-9 and blow up the wall there. Continue your way to I-9 and blow up the wall with your remaining Ratstail Explosive. Follow the right wall to I-9 and that should be it.

Total Ratstail Explosives used: 5 (can be done with 4)

  • Be warned that you will not always get the green switch though as the switch color is random.
  • There is also a red switch color, which is the first "switch" you pass on the way.

Game Description
