Odyssey takes place in Walk of Echoes, in an area named Sheol. It is battle content with exploration elements mixed in, where players can obtain materials to augment equipment such as the +1 Unity Concord armour and accessories.

The current content level is around 119, intended to be a good place for players geared up via Ambuscade for example.

Participating

To enter:

  • Interact with the '???' at (G-6) of Rabao to obtain the Key Item Moglophone (temporary key item).
  • Select 'Odyssey' via the nearby Veridical Conflux.
    • A new Moglophone (lost upon entry) may be acquired after at least 20 hours has passed (Earth time).
    • Parties of 1 to 6 players may enter, and they are able to call forth up to 5 alter egos.
    • The content has a time limit of 30 minutes.

To exit:

  • Reach the time limit.
  • Use the Moglophone (temporary item) (received upon entry).
  • Select Leave at the Otherworldy Vortex found in Perdition A-7.

Rewards

  • Izzat: Currency obtained by defeating enemies in Odyssey (one per every 5 Nostos enemy defeated, 10 for defeating a group of Agon enemies (at least within Perdition A-1)), used to open various boxes during participation (10 for one chest) or spawn notorious monsters (10 per monster). This is shared between party members, and all of it will be lost upon exit.
  • Lustreless Scale: Regular treasure pool items obtained by defeating Nostros enemies (1 to 2 per enemy). The Unity Concord NPCs will require these for the augmenting process.
  • Lustreless Scale Box: Dispenses Lustreless Scales when used. Obtained by defeating notorious monsters in Odyssey.
  • Large Lustreless Scale Box: Dispenses Lustreless Scales when used. Obtained by completing the Records of Eminence objective: Sheol A (under Content/Odyssey).

To initially augment the equipment, at least one Lustreless Scale, 30,000 Unity Accolades, and completion of Sheol A is required.

To further augment them, Lustreless Scales are required. One scale is worth 5 RP, and the amount required for the next rank is displayed on the item description.

  • Moving up a rank will add an additional attribute, or increase the current ones.

As an example, augmenting a Sailfi Belt +1 will require 50 RP for rank 2, 80 for rank 3, 120 for rank 4, 170 for rank 5, 220 for rank 6, 280 for rank 7, 410 for rank 8, with increasing amount up until the maximum of rank 15.

  • In the example, up to rank 5, only STR+1 has been added. At rank 6, in addition to STR+1, "Double Attack"+1% is added. At rank 8, another "Double Attack"+1% is added.

Exploration

The first area, Perdition A-1, will have groups of Nostos enemies placed on set locations, on a set layout. The family of enemies that each group consists of will be different from entry to entry. These enemies are Even Match at item level 119, but seem to have higher than usual attack rating, easily dealing around 600 points of damage with critical hits to not-so-defencive jobs (such as a samurai wearing Ambuscade +2 equipment).

  • The level of the enemies will be higher in the other areas.
  • Nostos enemies follow the regular methods of detecting player characters, meaning Invisible or Sneak will prevent them from attacking.

One of the groups will also have an Agon Halo with them, as well as a group of 6 Agon enemies from one of the beastmen families (in Perdition A-1). The beastmen are translucent at first, and can not be targeted or damaged even via area or counter attacks, but they will attack player characters as they normally would (true sight or/and hearing). Once the Agon Halo is destroyed, they will become targetable.

When the Agon enemies are defeated, an Ethereal Junction will appear nearby, and 10 Izzat may be used to spawn a notorious monster such as the crab named Brachys.

Chests can be found usually placed among the groups of enemies, or very close to them, and can be opened using 10 Izzat.

Further areas up to Perdition A-7 can be accessed via a Veridical Conflux located at a fixed location in each area, with a similar idea to the first one, with the notable difference of different beastmen sometimes being grouped together..

Each area also have an Ethereal Junction, which allows for summoning forth other enemies by using special items.

Every second area will have a Translocator that will allow for warping between them, after having interacted with them at least once.
