Stronghold Statistics
Fortifications
Fortifications is the number of troops stationed at a stronghold. As troops are defeated or the stronghold itself is attacked, this drops. Once this drops below a pre-established amount, the battle is considered a failure for the defenders.
Raised by: Replenished over time, sped up by the engineer units, and by the Vanguard-X ops. A lack of funds hurts all these methods.
Maximum Fortifications
Just what it says, the maximum level the fortifications can go. Appears to cap at 300. Can be lowered by an unknown method.
Raised by: Steel Resolve ops
Resources
Used up whenever temporary items are bought (And apparently just from battles).
Raised by: Replenished over time, sped up by engineer units, and by the Crimson Domino ops. Requires national resources and supplies to do any of these.
Maximum Resources
The maximum amount of resources a stronghold can carry.
Influence
Whenevever an enemy is defeated, the nation that defeated it gains influence. Whenever a friendly unit or player is defeated, the beastmen gain influence. Affects who owns the zone once the campaign tally rolls around.
Heroism Gauge
The bar that appears by a zone's name when you put your cursor over it, Maruna-Kurina does a poor job of explaining what it actually does. Rises as battles occur in an area (Reset once it hits maximum?), and apparently affects the number of different squads sent there as well as freelancer special abilities such as Dalzakk summoning Oggbi and Areuhat turning into Odzmanouk.

Opinion Polls
Opinion Polls are a largely unknown factor in Campaign Battles. It's known to affect the priority of certain ops, as well as the tactics units take in battle. It's completely uncertain what voting for commanders does. In general, one should vote for aggressive tactics when the nation doesn't control very many areas, and vote for defensive tactics to hold onto areas when they do.

Beastmen...
There are a number of beastman freelancers: Boodlix, Eurytos, Kaiser Behemoth, and Raigegue R d'Oraguille. They will frequently be against you, but clues from Maruna-Kurina hint that they are indeed recruitable. They currently cannot be approached outside of campaign battles.
