Talk:Smithing Guide By Excessivedamage

Just wanted to suggest you change the recommendation to sell iron scales to npc. They sell for around 40k/stack on AH on Pandy. Great guide though! --Xanthe7 13:04, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

hey ex, tip on the aspis synthing, you can buy the logs at the port shop of whoever is 2nd or better, and i think they're only WW 6 to make into lumber. that's how i got past that bit in smithing anyway -Turdsman 3/6/07

Just want to say this looks like the start to one of the best smithing guides out there. Great job! I really hope you continue at least to level 60, but I would love to see you take the guide to 100. Thanks for writing it with all the tips! -Keoni (Garuda) 8/22/07

Great start.........[edit]

I've checked out a couple other smithing guides, and this one by far is the most detailed I have seen. The other two here only slightly touch on profitable ways to utilize, or procure every item involved in every recipe. Other guides I've seen on other sites don't even come close. PLEASE keep this guide going strong!! I am currently lvl28 smithing, and GREATLY look forward to seeing the rest of this guide. If I had only known then what I know now after reading your guide, I would have probably saved a hundred k or more.

Hey Ex, a good tip too is for the iron sheets into iron scales, do a revert synth, i.e. a synth with no purpose on skill ups but instead to decrease over all loss. As iron scales don't sell very fast you can hit the scales with an additional wind crystal to turn them into a ninja tool. Other than that, using source images is a fantastic idea on making this guide pop. Milotheshort 23:49, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

I notice you mention desythning to get some of you materials. Personally, I would like to see Quadav backplates and helms on your list. They can be a good source of iron ingots and the occasional darksteel, and if you're running around mining in Palborough they are simple to side-farm. Otherwise, great guide! Has me at 50 right now with very few variations. Zentia 21:27, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
