Spissatus means “thickened” in Latin, but in this context it appears to refer to a few types of clouds.

Cumulonimbus spissatus

These are cumulonumbus clouds (rain-bearing cumulus clouds) that appear very thick and gray in color, thick enough to obscure sunlight.

Cirrus spissatus
