This Job requires the Seekers of Adoulin Expansion

Harnessing the elemental energies that course through Vana'diel's veins in ways that no sorcerer can, geomancers both aid their comrades-in-arms and teach their foes how deadly the forces of nature can be. Geomancers can used job specific bells in their ammo slot to enhance their "Geomancy" power. Unlock by completing the Dances with Luopans quest.

Indicolure and Geocolure Spells

Geomancy magic comes in two forms: Indicolure spells, prefixed with Indi-, are centered on the caster and provide various effects within a certain radius, indicated visually by an aura around the caster- This aura moves with the player wherever he goes, until the effect ends.

Geocolure spells, prefixed with Geo- are cast on oneself for buffs and on a target enemy for debuffs, and create a mystical vessel called a Luopan at that location which emit auras like the Indicolure spells around the Luopan's locaton. Unlike the Indicolure spells, these auras are fixed and can not be moved. The effect of the aura drains the Luopan's HP over time and the effect will end when the Luopan's HP is depleted. While Geo- spells cost more MP and are immobile and vulnerable, their effects can be enhanced by several Geomancer abilities which can't be used with Indicolure magic. Enemies may not target the Luopan, but Area-of-effect attacks can damage them, effectively reducing their duration.

Handbells

Geomancers use a ranged-slot item known as a handbell in casting geomancy magic. While equipped, the caster's Handbell skill is added to their Geomancy skill and the potency of the spell's effect is based on the combination of the two skills. Handbells can not be equipped with Geomancer set as a support job, and Geocolure spells ( prefixed with Geo-) can not be cast without a handbell equipped, therefore restricting such spells from being cast on support job Geomancer.

Currently, the Matre Bell is the only Handbell in the game.
