I just noticed that the piercing/blunt/slash page says 50% resistance on slash and this page says 25%--DarkTrance 18:34, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Bold textCan someone check if all 4 Clots (I think there's more now that a few were added to the Near East) have Additional Effect: HP Drain and if confirmed for all, then add that to Special Attacks with a Clots only note? --zoogelio-forgot-his-password 10:30, 28 July 2006 (EDT)

Maybe this is correct? Not sure. --Gahoo 12:50, 6 October 2006 (EDT)

Needing Confirmation for x'ed off Promathia abilities[edit]

There needs to be a check of Promathian Clots to see if they have the abilities their ToAU counterparts use, especially since many older monster families got new abilities when their members were placed in CoP zones. There should also be investigations of if there are Clot-exclusive abilities or Slime-exclusive abilities. CoP isn't known for Slimes, though a few can be fished up in the Aqueducts. And I'm not sure how many Slimes there are in the ToAU zones, but if there's any and none are found in standard zones, some can probably be fished up. So, things that need Confirmation on the main page's table:

  • Ability list of CoP Clots & CoP Slimes
  • Ability list of ToAU Clots & ToAU Slimes

The answer you seek is "trout". Hope that helps...

Just kidding. They only use Fluid Spread, Fluid Toss, and Digest. --Chrisjander 20:42, 20 December 2006 (EST)

So, are HP Drain, Epoxy Spread & Mucus Spread ToAU only moves found in both Slimesd and Clots? I think every possible combination should be observed to confirm the table, so no oversights are made. I checked through all Slimes and Clots to look for all non-NM Slimes & Clots from these 2 expansions. I think there's more ToAU Clots, but FFXIclopedia needs them added.

Its best to ignore NMs or arena NMs (BCNMs, Limbus NMs, etc) since they may have additional abilities (like Colo-colo having Promathian Bat TP moves despite being added under the Zilart era). It looks like a ride of the Manaclipper and a romp through Phomiuna should confirm CoP Slimes/Clots (it seems right now they have only 3 abilities, the old school FFXI 3). Mamook vs. Arrapago (I think the free roaming clots are in Zhayolm) should clarify the whole matter and make sure the table is 100% factual. --zoogelio-forgot-his-password 20:49, 21 December 2006 (EST)

There are the Mountain Clots on Mount Zhayolm. Also, I think you mean CoP clots for the one on the Manaclipper. There's also Viscous clots or whatever on Purgonorgo Isle. --Jopasopa 20:53, 21 December 2006 (EST)

Yeah, forgot about that (thought it was a NM or QNM). This shouldn't be that hard to test. It simply involves fighting 4 monsters: CoP Slime, CoP Clot, ToAU Slime, ToAU Clot and seeing which TP moves they use and checking if all Clots have that Additional Effect: HP Drain on their physical attacks. We know Viscous Clot does, though I haven't heard about Clot. This should decisively define Slimes and Clots relative to one another. The final results should be posted in a description at the top of the page, defining Slimes vs. Clots by appearance, "species drop" (Slime Oil vs. Clot Plasma), and if they share all the same TP moves between them, with only which expansion they are located in determining which TP moves they have, then that should be stated there (sorry if I have a technical mind and seem to be parsing sentences here, I aim for total precision here since the FFXIclopedia is becoming the definitive source for FFXI information). And Don't mind the links for each ToAU slime/clot, I just wanted to see which ones need pages for them or not. I'll check and compare if there's any missing CoP Slimes/Clots by comparing the wiki's list with Somepage's list. --zoogelio-forgot-his-password 22:30, 21 December 2006 (EST)

Are you sure these things are weak to fire and not thunder?
