Frog Song also makes you costumed as a frog (basically the size of a Poroggo (I think) but on all fours and naked), but I'm not quite sure on how to word this. --Jopasopa 21:47, 19 October 2006 (EDT)

Sounds like it polymorphs you into a Frog, like the old Frog spell from FFIV (or was it VI?). --Volkai 22:22, 21 October 2006 (EDT)

I know that FFVII had Frog Song that would turn you into a Frog and you would attack for 1 damage. Theres a few other FFs that have had this ability to turn you into a Frog (Someone mentioned them in the forums on the Odin server thread). --Drow 17:02, 28 October 2006 (EDT)

I've noticed that Poroggo only cast the unattainable -ga spells (Breakga, Blindga, Bindga, etc.)after they use the ability Providence. Though it might just be bad luck on my part I'm pretty sure all of the ones I fought followed with a -ga right after they used that ability. --.Dat 08:58, 4 December 2006

True Sight, Frog Song, and the ability to cast Death officialy make this the most dangerous general mob, dethroning Opo-Opo of that title. --Toksyuryel 23:11, 27 December 2006 (EST)

But they're adorable nonetheless. ^^ --Jopasopa 23:19, 27 December 2006 (EST)

Requested Move[edit]

Support.png Move or Redirect: To repair infobox templates for Poroggo NPCs - Alternative would be to enter "Poroggos" as the bestiary class and then move/redirect Poroggo NPCs to Poroggos NPCs --Leuqarte 16:07, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

Immunity to Light[edit]

Poroggos are hardly immune to light. As a Bard, even outside of Salvage, I'm managed to land Lullaby on multiple occasions, one of which has a corresponding screenshot: [1]. --Dragonspight 23:07, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

Family[edit]

I don't think that Frogs (Crapaudy and toads) should be listed here, its clear that they are aquans, and differ from their porrogo cousins Sanjuro asura 19:05, July 23, 2010 (UTC)

Quoted from the Toad page:

  1. As cute as they may be, don't bother trying to charm them, as they are considered Poroggo (beastmen), and thus are immune.
  2. For this same reason, soul plates will count as a Poroggo in exchange for Zeni. (~67-70 zeni for a 1% Toad)

However, the Magian Trials consider Crapaudy to be an aquan. Then again, Magian Trials also consider Saplings to be Treants, which they are not in any way gameplay-wise, but they are in the FFXI world story. Still, it is iffy. The resolution is really simple though: get some bibiki seashell wearers to fight Crappies and see what happens. If they intimidate them, then they are truly aquans. --Blue Donkey Kong 11:55, July 25, 2010 (UTC)

I didn't expect or intend to be the one to prove this, but in an Abyssea alliance last night, I intimidated these as a Blue Mage. I had no killer traits set, but I did have Beast Killer and Aquan Killer from my equipment. If these were beastmen, they wouldn't be intimidated by any killer effect, and I doubt my beast slayer is what scared them. They are indeed Aquans. --Blue Donkey Kong 02:18, August 9, 2010 (UTC)

But do Poroggos also get intimidated by aquan killer gear? Also, Kindred are widely considered both beastman and demon. They are called Beastmen in many cases but are susceptible to all Demon Killer traits, and the ability Hecatomb Wave is also considered "demon". These frogs could be considered the same as Kindred in this way. --Zatias 10:19, June 23, 2011 (UTC)
